2. NY Giants improved offensive line needs to protect the QB

The Giants are only bringing back one starter from last season’s miserable offensive line unit, and that is third year OT Andrew Thomas. As last season progressed, fans realized the Giants had something special in Thomas.

Schoen decided to get Thomas some help on the line. New York used the No. 7 overall selection on Evan Neal, who was a standout lineman at Alabama.

Schoen also went even further, as he added depth outside of those two young studs. One major addition to add depth to the offensive line was picking up Jon Feliciano. Daboll and Schoen have ties to Feliciano from their time with the Buffalo Bills, and they’re hoping he can also be a reliable piece to his unit.

Protecting the quarterback last season was something the Giants struggled with and was certainly a factor in the forgettable 2021 season. Last season New York’s offensive line was ranked 30th in the NFL. Heading into the 2022 season, fans should expect to see more protection from a revamped offensive line.
