The New York Giants have given Daniel Jones one more chance to solidify himself as their franchise quarterback.
After not picking up Jones’ fifth-year option, the Giants could soon face a need at quarterback. With many expecting them to have a top pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, they could have their pick of the litter.
This draft class is full of potential franchise cornerstones. Ranging from rising stars in the SEC to solidified QB1s in the Big Ten. Here are four quarterbacks the Giants could target in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
4. Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud
In his first season as a starter in 2021, C.J. Stroud took college football by storm. On his way to finishing fourth in Heisman voting, Stroud threw for 4,435 passing yards, 44 touchdowns, and just six interceptions.
With Stroud’s success on the field, he helped Ohio State be one of the best teams in the country. The team finished with an 11-2 record and a trip to the Rose Bowl.
During the Rose Bowl, Stroud put on a show for the entire nation. He threw for 573 passing yards, six touchdowns, and one interception.
Now, in 2022, Stroud and Ohio State are looking to remain dominant. In their first game of the season, Stroud put on a show against a top-ranked team in Notre Dame. He threw for 223 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Stroud has proven to be an elite talent at quarterback on several occasions. He is a big play machine whenever he touches the ball and has shown that he can lead an offense.
Stroud also has all of the makings of a prototypical quarterback. He confidently can stand in the pocket and make the big throws needed. Given the receivers that the Giants would have around Stroud, he could potentially play the same way in the NFL.
