A new era in NY Giants football started off on the right foot with a 21-20 victory in Week 1 vs the Tennessee Titans. By no means was this a perfect football game for Big Blue, but the team fought from behind and found a way to win. This was the Giants first Week 1 win since beating Dallas on the road in 2016.

It always feels right to start off the season with a win and this is momentum that the team can continue to build off of. The Giants offense was struggling to make anything happen in the first half and it looked like the Titans were going to blow it wide open sooner or later.

However, second-half adjustments and gutsy play calls by Brian Daboll all helped the G-Men walk away with a win. Next, here are four moments that werre key for the Giants in recording the upset.

4. 65-yard Sterling Shepard TD

The Giants began their first offensive drive of the second half with a four-yard touchdown run by Saquon Barkley, who looked absolutely incredible yesterday. Tennessee’s next drive ended in a three and out forced by the Giants defense. Daniel Jones and the offense would soon capitalize.

Two plays after the Titans punted the ball to NY, Jones would find the longest tenured Giant Sterling Shepard on a 65-yard touchdown pass that would tie the game 13-13 with 8:48 left in the third quarter.

Despite only having two catches, Shep still led the offense with 71 receiving yards. It was great to see Shepard fully healthy and productive after dealing with two different injuries last season. An ideal start to the season for Shepard and the NY Giants.
