1. QB Daniel Jones
In the end, Jones did enough to earn the Giants a victory. He finished the game with 188 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. On the ground, he added another 25 rushing yards on six carries.
Week 1 served as a tale of two halves for the Giants QB1. A poor start in the first half put the team into a position where they were forced to play keep up later on. But when the second half began, Jones was leading this offense in an efficient manner that hasn’t always been seen in the past.

Yet even with the big plays, many of his problems from the past still plagued him. One of which is poor decision making.
As the Giants pushed down the field in the fourth quarter, Jones threw what could have been a game-costing interception in the red zone.
That’s as bad of an interception you’ll see from Daniel Jones. Gross. pic.twitter.com/27r7R59dux

On the interception, Jones looked like the player he was in the past. He keyed in on Barkley from the start of the play and then attempted to force a pass that had almost no chance of succeeding. Brian Daboll was not happy with the choice made by his quarterback.

In response to this interception, Jones led the Giants down the field, eventually putting themselves in a position to win the game.

Jones’s ability to lead the offense at the end of the game was clear. Daboll and the coaching staff had confidence in what he could do on the field. And in the end, it worked. But he will need to continue to do this if he hopes to stick around.
There is little room for error for Jones this season. With the team not picking up his fifth-year option, this could be his last chance to prove he should be this team’s QB1. A strong outing against what could be a tough Panthers defense will be a true test for this unit.
