Ranking NFC East QBs after the Week 1 madness
1. Carson Wentz – Washington Commanders
The Commanders got off to a hot start with their newly acquired quarterback Carson Wentz. Washington beat the Jacksonville Jaguars at home 28-22.
The former Eagles and Colts quarterback threw back to back interceptions on two consecutive plays. It should have been over there and then. But, Wentz went to the sideline and stomped the ground in anger. The 29 year old knew it was up to him to win the game for the Commanders, he went out and did just exactly that.
Wentz showed resilience in his first start for Washington, completing 27-of-41 attempts for 313 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions. Two horrible interceptions by Wentz were forgotten about when the seven-year veteran scored his third and fourth touchdown to win his team the game.
Wentz looked confident, which is something that was missing with the Colts. With Prescott sidelined for a little while, it leaves everything wide open in the NFC East. Washington could be a team that surprises people.
