3. Eagles RB Miles Sanders

During the Eagles’ Week 1 contest against the Detroit Lions, running back Miles Sanders seemed to return to a form that was barely seen last season.

In a hard-fought battle that the Eagles ended up winning 38-35, Sanders rushed for 96 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries. His average yards per carry was 7.4, which was better than any performance that he had last season. He also averaged 6.0 yards after contact.

Sanders reaching the end zone was also a big achievement for the veteran running back. He went scoreless throughout the 2021 season, not reaching the end zone once. To get it out of the way in Week 1 could put him in line for a big season.

The Eagles offense, led by quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receiver A.J. Brown, looks to be explosive. Scoring 38 points is no easy task, and the Lions’ defense is no slouch.

If the offense continues to look like this, Sanders could be in line for a massive season. In each of his first two seasons, Sanders recorded over 1,000 yards from scrimmage. While he hasn’t achieved this feat since 2020, this could be the campaign that he does.

Given that Sanders can continue to run at this rate, he could be in line for a career season. The 25-year-old running back will be worth keeping an eye on in Philadelphia.
