Here’s why the NY Giants have no excuses to not start off 4-0

3. No Dak Prescott for the Dallas Cowboys come Week 3

While you never want to celebrate an injury for any player in the NFL, the fact of the matter is that Dak Prescott suffered his fractured thumb and he’s going to be out for around two months. This means the star signal-caller won’t be out on the field for the Monday Night Football showdown come Week 3.

Instead, it will be the Cooper Rush show for the Dallas Cowboys. There’s quite the dropoff from Prescott to Rush and the Giants will surely be favored for this matchup as well, especially if they’re able to take care of business this weekend against the Panthers. Injuries have been a nightmare for the Cowboys this season.

For the Giants, they’ll need to take advantage of this and keep playing at a high clip. Luckily for the Giants, Jones showed plenty of potential in Week 1 despite his head-scratching red-zone interception. On top of that, Saquon Barkley was a monster running the ball and he’ll be ready to do more of the same vs. the Panthers and then the Cowboys in primetime.
