3. Giants need to score first

Scoring first in the NFL is a huge advantage. Playing football from behind forces teams to do things they don’t necessarily want to do. Playing football with a lead also allows teams to manage the game the way they want to, and Jones needs to score first in order to make it his game right away.

MetLife Stadium is going to be rocking on Sunday. If Jones can start the game off with a bang, the crowd will be giving Mayfield and the Panthers defense fits with the energy they will bring.

Fans are used to seeing the Giants play from behind, but in the second half of Week 1 the offense looked very good. The fans want to help this team win, and it starts by Jones leading the offense to the endzone in their opening drive.

Putting pressure on Mayfield has always haunted him throughout his career. He has a tendency to make bad decisions with football, and playing from behind will force him to throw much more.
