3. The G-Men need Kayvon Thibodeaux and Azeez Ojulari healthy

Earlier in the week, there was some optimism that both Kayvon Thibodeaux (knee) and Azeez Ojulari (calf) would be able to suit up for this one. Thibodeaux was even feeling confident he’d get himself ready. Instead, both guys weren’t able to put the pads on and we’ll have to wait until next week to see them.

You could tell just how much the Giants defense missed both playmakers in the Week 2 matchup. Baker Mayfield simply had too much time in the pocket and the lack of pressure off the edge was quite noticeable. Thibodeaux and Ojulari could have made Mayfield’s life a nightmare if they were healthy enough to play.

They’re going to be quite the tag team once they are able to make their 2022 debuts. For Thibodeaux in particular, the No. 5 overall pick is chomping at the bit to take the field for his first regular season game. The stage will be set for him in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys, as he’ll hope to make some big plays during Monday Night Football.
