In the 19-16 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, NY Giants wide receiver Kenny Golladay was barely seen out on the field. Matter of fact, Golladay, the four-year, $72 million man, was only in action for two snaps. Seriously, just two? This is something people couldn’t believe, as David Sills and Richie James saw way more action than he did.

After the win, head coach Brian Daboll said that Golladay was informed earlier in the week that he’d be taking a backseat to other wideouts. After the game, though, Golladay wasn’t made available to the media for comment and according to insider Ryan Dunleavy, his locker was also cleared out. This flipped Twitter upside down.

NY Giants DB Julian Love backed Kenny Golladay on Twitter

Shortly after that news dropped, though, Giants safety Julian Love took to Twitter himself to explain that Golladay wasn’t the only one to clear out his locker and then leave the stadium not too long after the final whistle.

Love wanted to try and clear things up, but there’s no doubt that something is still going on with Golladay. Through two games, the WR has two receptions to his name. Fans were hoping the speedster who was a star for the Detroit Lions would showcase his usual talent to start the new campaign, but the opposite has been the case. Rather than balling out for the G-Men, Golladay is making more headlines for his lack of playing time.

When he was signed to his mega-deal, he figured to be the next big-name standout in New York. That just hasn’t gone according to plan and it’s been frustrating for some many NY supporters. At the end of the day, the Giants are 2-0, but they’re going to need guys like Golladay and Kadarius Toney to step it up during the heart of the season.

Do fans think the Giants can play this sluggish against the Green Bay Packers in Week 5 and pull off a win in London? No chance. With the Dallas Cowboys stunning the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2, Jerry Jones’ team will be motivated to record another strong win in Week 3, this time against the G-Men in a Monday Night Football battle.

Something is off with Golladay and he’s got to get it figured out as soon as possible. A solid week of practice could give Daboll no choice but to get him heavily involved in the offense once again. Another two-snap showing against Dallas would be brutal and it’s the last thing anyone will want to see. It’ll be on Golladay to prevent that from happening. We need the old KG to return immediately.
