3. Julian Love

After being named as a captain of the Giants for the first time in his career this offseason, Love has been tremendous to start the year. After playing great in the Week 1 stunner at Tennessee, Love led the Giants in tackles (eight), tackles for loss (two), and sacks (one) during the Week 2 victory.

Most importantly, Love made the play of the game. With the Giants up 19-16, with 2:35 to go, Love came on a safety blitz and sacked Baker Mayfield on third down. Love beat rookie left tackle Ickey Ekonwu on the play, forcing Carolina to punt.

Love’s sack of Mayfield was the play of the game for the defense, and the captain truly delivered for his team. This was great to see for the G-Men. When Wink Martindale needed someone to deliver for him, Love did just that.
