2. A big conversion to Wan’Dale Robinson

In the first quarter of the Giants Week 1 game against the Titans, Jones delivered a pass to rookie receiver Wan’Dale Robinson that should excite all Giants fans. With the pocket collapsing just moments after the snap, Jones was forced out of said pocket. As he rushed to the right, he was chased by a Titans defender. To throw the defender off, Jones delivered a pump fake that he has never had in his arsenal in the past.

After faking the throw, Jones was able to reset his feet and deliver the ball on a rope to Robinson. The play also showed good adjustment from the rookie receiver. On the original route, Robinson ran a route putting him near the sideline. As he saw Jones move to the right, he went back towards the middle of the field, eventually settling in between two defenders right as Jones put the ball where it needed to be.

In the past, Jones may have either forced the ball into a spot where it could have resulted in a turnover, or he would have attempted to run. Instead of doing either, he managed to not only extend the play, but keep the drive alive with an elite-level throw.
