4 injury concerns for NY Giants leading up to MNF with Dallas
By Zach Wolpin
3. DL Leonard Williams
There are not many players who you can rely on week after week, year after year to be on the field for every single game. It takes an incredible amount of luck and skill as football is such a contact heavy sport. Leonard Williams did not practice on Thursday and will likely miss the game vs the Cowboys with an MCL sprain in his knee.
His record of 114 consecutive games started looks to come to an end after an impressive run. Williams is surely more worried about getting back on the field and helping the team win.
The former sixth overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft has had a nice run in his short time with the Giants. Williams recorded 11.5 sacks, 57 tackles, and 30 QB hits in 2020. Last season he had another 6.5 sacks along with a career-high 81 tackles in a season.
Big Blue will miss his presence up front, but luckily the Giants have players like Justin Ellis and rookie D.J. Davidson who can step up and contribute. Hopefully Williams injury does not linger and keep him out for an extended period of time.
