The 2-0 New York Giants host their hated rivals, the 1-1 Dallas Cowboys, on Monday night in East Rutherford. The MetLife Stadium crowd will be fired up for this one, and it feels as though the Cowboys and Giants franchises are headed in opposite directions heading into this big showdown.

The Giants, led by Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley, have started the Brian Daboll era with a boom. The Giants came back from a double-digit deficit in the season opener against Tennessee, winning 21-20 thanks to a gutsy two-point conversion call by Brian Daboll.

The Giants followed that up by winning an ugly game against Carolina, but it was a game the Giants do not usually win, especially at home. Wink Martindale has the Giants defense flying around the field, and the Giants are expected to get their two star pass-rushers, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Azeez Ojulari, back for Monday night’s game.

The Giants will make a national statement on Monday night, and NFL teams, players, and fans will have to start taking them seriously. Here are four reasons the New York Giants will beat the Cowboys and improve to 3-0

4. Take advantage of a mismatch in the trenches

The Giants pass-rush will look ferocious on Monday night against a feeble Dallas offensive line. The Cowboys offensive line currently features All-Pro left guard Zack Martin and a whole bunch of question marks. The Cowboys offense line is in rough shape, and without All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith, the Cowboys have been forced to start a rookie left tackle, a 2021 seventh-round pick, a below average center, and a 2020 undrafted right tackle.

Martindale is the king of sending blitzes, and will be sending a pass-rush featuring Dexter Lawrence, Thibodeaux and Ojulari, assuming they’re all healthy, at Rush. With the unusual disguises, coupled with safety and corner blitzes Martindale has been running to start the season, the Cowboys are going to be dealing with Giants defenders in the backfield all night.

A good offensive line is a backup quarterback’s best friend, but that’s not the case for Dallas and Rush right now. The Giants will look to make this a night for the Cowboys and Rush.
