This is most definitely going to spice up your Monday. While the NY Giants recorded a 20-12 win over the Bears in Week 4, one major negative were all of the injuries sustained. At safety, Julian Love suffered a concussion and he could miss the London game vs. the Packers.

Enter Landon Collins? Coming from seemingly out of nowhere, insider Jeremy Fowler is reporting that the Giants are hosting the former three-time Pro Bowler for a visit. Collins is loved by Big Blue supporters, as he also made an All-Pro team while in town. Could GM Joe Schoen make another splash by signing him to a deal this week?

NY Giants hosting Landon Collins for a visit has fans excited

This is most definitely going to be something to watch for Giants fans in the coming days. With the fact alone that Schoen has brought in Collins for a visit, there’s clearly high interest in getting him back in a Giants uniform. Collins, a 6-0, 218-pounder, spent the first four years of his career with the G-Men before making his way to Washington for three campaigns.

No one will forget his 2016 with New York, as Collins posted 125 tackles, five interceptions and four sacks. That monster year earned him a trip to the Pro Bowl and his First-Team All-Pro honors. Collins didn’t have the same kind of success in Washington, but he’s still got the talent to make a big difference for a defense.

Imagine him making plays for new defensive coordinator Wink Martindale. Collins indeed could play a safety/linebacker hybrid role for the G-Men and make plays all over the field. The main concern on Collins is his ability in coverage, though. With the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers next up on the schedule, this has some people wondering why Schoen would be going after the veteran DB.

At the end of the day, though, Collins won’t be signed to be the savior for this defense and contain Rodgers all on his own. Collins does a tremendous job of getting into the backfield and putting pressure on an opposing QB. Martindale would surely help bring out the best in him as well.

If Collins is open to the hybrid role and getting reps in at LB where the Giants need help, then this could turn out to be a great move for both sides. We should find out soon if this reunion actually goes down or not.
