It may not have been pretty, but the NY Giants took down the Bears 20-12 in a close battle. Normally, a win like this would not be that surprising. However, considering all the injuries the NY Giants went through, it was pretty shocking to see them come out on top.

The last time a NY Giants head coach started his career 3-1 was in 2004 with the legendary Tom Coughlin. Brian Daboll just keeps on impressing during his rookie season leading the team. You know that not only him, but the players as well are very proud of the success the team has seen thus far.

Despite all of the injuries the NY Giants sustained this game, several players stepped up in a huge way to propel the G-Men to their nearly undefeated start. With that being said, here are four NY Giants players who came up huge for Daboll in the team’s Week 4 win against the Bears.

4. LB Tae Crowder

As questionable as Tae Crowder has played thus far this season, he really stepped up big time this week, leading the NY Giants defense to an impressive game.

This was undoubtedly Crowder’s best game of the season, and arguably the best of his career. He racked up 10 combined tackles, a sack, one tackle for loss, and one QB hit. Normally the biggest issue with Crowder is his reaction time in both coverage and against the run. However, Crowder looked excellent in both of those aspects this week.

Throughout the first three games of the season, Crowder had looked abysmal. Lacking any ability in coverage while simultaneously playing poor against the run at times. Despite this, Crowder completely turned things around against Chicago.

If Crowder is able to keep this level of play up, he will instantly go from being a liability, to a key member of Wink Martindale’s unit. To see a player of Crowder’s level play this well has to make you happy – it is always exciting to see a Mr. Irrelevant ball out on the big stage.
