4 NY Giants players who came up huge for Brian Daboll in Week 4 win
2. QB Daniel Jones
After taking a brutal beating in last week’s game against the Cowboys, NY Giants QB Daniel Jones stepped up yet again vs. the Bears. Jones only finished with 71 passing yards, but he rushed for 68 yards and two scores.
While his passing stats may not be the most impressive, it is crucial to remember the receiving core that Jones was working with alongside the NY Giants game plan this week. It was very clear that head coach Brian Daboll wanted to put an emphasis on the run game.
Regardless, Jones got the job done for the Giants despite missing time during the game due to an ankle injury he sustained in the second half. Jones was forced back early after Tyrod Taylor went down with an injury, and helped make some plays late.
You can question Jones’s level of play all you want. One thing you can never doubt is his effort, heart, and leadership. No matter what is thrown at his direction, Jones is always looking to put the team ahead of himself.
Jones has played very solid throughout the beginning of the final year of his contract. While he may not be contract extension worthy at this time, Jones has given his all for this team. We hope fans will at least respect him for that.
