In true throwback Thursday fashion, we can call safety Landon Collins a member of the New York Giants once again. Collins, drafted by the G-Men in the second round back in 2015, inked with team’s practice squad, but the expectation is that he’ll be promoted to the active roster sooner than later.

Collins shared the news of his new deal with Josina Anderson. In addition to informing the NFL insider on his return to his former stomping grounds, Collins also delivered a three-word message to the NY faithful that will surely fire plenty of people up.

Safety Landon Collins couldn’t be happier he’s back with the NY Giants

A lot of folks are going to agree with Collins there, as he indeed should have never left East Ruthertford for Washington. After four fantastic seasons with NY to start his career, Collins surprised plenty of fans when he inked a monster deal with the then Washington Redskins. Collins to an NFC East rival? It couldn’t be.

The playmaker would go on to spend three seasons in D.C., but he never reached the same kind of success he did with the Giants. Now, Collins has the chance to turn back the clock and make stellar plays for Big Blue. If you take a look on Twitter, people are loving the news on Collins, as few have forgotten about his strong play back in the day with the squad.

What makes the addition of Collins so intriguing is that he’ll now be making plays for new defensive coordinator Wink Martindale. Collins will play a hybrid role, lining up at both safety and linebacker. This really feels like a strong fit for both sides.

This will open the door for Collins to make plays all over the field and really showcase his talents. We could see the veteran player as soon as this weekend in London going up against the Green Bay Packers at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. It’d be awesome to see him waste little time and turn heads for the defense, which Collins is clearly ready to get done.
