4 ways the NY Giants can stun the Packers in London
3. A Kayvon Thibodeaux breakout game
With Azeez Ojulari missing this week’s game, it will be up to fifth overall pick Kayvon Thibodeaux to man the edge. While he certainly hasn’t played poorly, Thibodeaux has yet to have that “breakout game” we tend to see from rookies.
Both of the Packers offensive tackles in David Bakhtiari and Elgton Jenkins are listed on the injury report and it is currently unknown as to whether or not they’ll be 100 percent fit. If they are good to go for this game, a Thibodeaux breakout is less likely, as Jenkins and Bakhtiari are two of the best tackles football has to offer.
Even if they are good to go, Thibodeaux will still likely have a big impact on this game. Despite not registering a sack yet this season, Thibodeaux has found other ways to make plays: racking up four pressures against the Bears while making several athletic plays with his feet.
Despite a tremendous season from Dexter Lawrence thus far, the NY Giants have not had any other consistent pass-rushers on their defense. If Thibodeaux can have a successful game, and maybe even register his first career sack, there is a good chance the NY Giants defense sees success and potentially even contains Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense.
