3. Injuries are still holding them back

The Giants have dealt with injuries on both sides of the ball, but they are still winning games. This is just a sign of what could be to come. On offense, the Giants have remained effective, even with a wide receiver room full of injuries. Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney, Wan’Dale Robinson, Sterling Shepard, and Darius Slayton have all missed time.

But in their absence, it has led to several other pass-catchers earning valuable reps. David Sills and Richie James have spent more time on the field this season than they ever have in the past. This could prove to be crucial to this team’s success in the future.

The defense has also dealt with a fair share of injuries. As noted, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Azeez Ojulari, and Leonard Williams have all missed time. Even without the defensive front playing at full force, they have already recorded 15 sacks. Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence is on the way to a breakout season, as he recorded yet another sack in Week 5. There is still no telling just how disruptive this pass-rush could become when they are fully healthy.

The potential of this team is still unknown. And it won’t be until they are fully healthy. Once the injured players return, this team could become even better. It could be enough to win them the NFC East.
