With the way people across the country are talking about the New York Giants, you’d think this team was 1-4 on the year. Go ahead and take a look at the schedule again, folks, as the G-Men are 4-1, making a statement in Week 5 going up against the Green Bay Packers. Apparently, that win wasn’t enough for people to think this team is for real.
Throughout the week, countless NFL fans have dubbed the Giants the worst 4-1 squad in league history. Okay then. So, a defense shutting down Aaron Rodgers last week and making Derrick Henry look average to start the campaign was just luck?
Give us a break. For head man Brian Daboll, he’s seen and heard the negative talk. It’s not going to bring him or his players down.
NY Giants head coach Brian Daboll has fans believing again
Daboll is as cool as they come. Sure, the Giants don’t have the most talented roster out there. However, this team has grit, heart and all the other traits you need to pull out some close wins. Again, you don’t start off the season 4-1, with wins over the two No. 1 seeds in the NFL from last season, just with luck.
Daniel Jones has done more than enough to lead this team to impressive victories. Saquon Barkley leads the NFL in yards from scrimmage and he’s playing like one of the best running backs in the game. The man belongs in the MVP conversation.
Remember when people said Barkley was finished and we’d never see the 2018 version of him again? Those same doubters need to go to REI as soon as possible to buy some new shoes, because they’re overdue to take a hike.
Daboll believes in this team and the overall process. The Giants are looking like a playoff squad and they’ll have a chance to prove everyone wrong once again going up against the Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson. They’re underdogs for this one, with experts assuming Jackson will have his way with the G-Men. Something tells us another stunner could be on the way.
