3. S Xavier McKinney

Another key piece in Martindale’s defensive system is Giants safety Xavier McKinney. He plays all over the field for Big Blue and made a huge stop on fourth down late in Sunday’s game to help the team win. This is a play that’s going to haunt Rodgers for a while.

McKinney is a versatile player who can line up against anyone. He can play up in the box as more of a hybrid linebacker/safety role or he can play deep and help DBs down the field. The Giants are the only team in the NFL without an interception and McKinney certainly wants to change that.

Just last week the Giants re-signed a former safety and team captain who the fans are happy to have back. Landon Collins was a beast for the Giants and earned All-Pro honors in 2016. He was spotted at practice working with the linebackers.

Collins and McKinney are former Alabama second-rounders who the Giants will use to help win games. This duo could prove to be a problem for Jackson and Baltimore’s offense in Week 6.
