1. Jets WR Denzel Mims
New York Jets wide receiver Denzel Mims could bring depth to the wide receiver room. Before the start of the season, Mins requested a trade from the Jets. Many people around the NFL speculated that the Giants could be the perfect landing spot for the young pass-catcher.
Through the first two seasons of his career, Mims has been lost within the Jets wide receiver room. Between injuries and other players in front of him on the depth chart, the former Baylor pass catcher has played in just 20 career games. He has been a healthy scratch in each of the Jets first five games this season.
When on the field, Mims has been solid. He has recorded 31 receptions and 490 reciting yards on 67 career targets. Mims is entering just the third year of his NFL career. He is just 25 years old and has shown potential. It is also worth noting that he is owed a base salary of just $1,103,973 this season, and would also be under contract for next season.
The Jets and the Giants don’t often do deals, but this could be too good to pass up on. On the offensive side of the ball, the wide receiver position is in dire need of depth. Taking a chance on a player such as Mims could be worth the risk.
