Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney injury updates makes need to trade for WR larger
Both of these guys entered the year with so much dang promise for the NY Giants, but alas, things just haven’t gone to plan. We’re talking about wideouts Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney, who have missed the last few weeks due to injury. Both players aren’t expected to be on the field on Sunday to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Woof. It’s clear that Golladay and Toney can’t be relied on the rest of the season to stay at 100 percent to make plays for Daniel Jones, Brian Daboll and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll. With plenty of rumors swirling about the Giants having interest in making some moves before the trade deadline, Joe Schoen must focus on bringing in receiver help for the unit.
NY Giants have to trade for a WR ahead of the deadline
Golladay injured his knee in the Week 3 Monday Night Football loss to the Dallas Cowboys, while Toney hasn’t been on the field since the Week 2 win against the Carolina Panthers due to hamstring problems. Despite the two missing most of the season thus far, the offense has been fine without them, posting back-to-back wins over the Packers and Ravens in upset fashion.
With the Jaguars slight favorites over the G-Men in Week 7, fans are hoping another ‘upset’ will be on the way. If the Giants come away with another win, it will be on Darius Slayton, Richie James and Daniel Bellinger to lead the aerial attack with Jones throwing them the ball. This isn’t what fans want to see the rest of the campaign.
There’s been several players linked with a potential move to East Rutherford, including D.J. Moore and Jerry Jeudy. If Schoen wants to show this team as a whole and the fanbase that he’s serious about making a big splash late in the campaign, he needs to go out and bring in some WR help.
Again, Toney and Golladay can’t be trusted to catch balls from Danny Dimes anymore. Schoen needs to find a stud who can help open up the field and make big plays when NY needs him to.
