It would not be a hyperbole to say that Kadarius Toney’s NFL career has gotten off to one of the most bizarre starts the league has seen in quite some time. Toney’s pro playing days began with a foot injury from a cleat issue last year in rookie minicamp. Things have continued to go downhill from there.

It seemed like Toney began to break out early last season, playing a key part in the Giants upset victory in New Orleans, and he then followed that up by recording 189 receiving yards in a loss to Dallas, despite Mike Glennon playing quarterback the majority of that game. Though he had the game of his career in Dallas, Toney negated much of it after he was ejected for throwing a punch.

Since then, injuries have been a major issue for Toney, and he’s missed most of 2022 as well. Despite that, he’s reportedly on the trade block. Here’s a look at three teams who could end up making a move to try and land him before the deadline.

3. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens receiving core may rival the current Giants group for worst in the league. The Ravens wide receiver crew currently features Rashod Bateman, Demarcus Robinson, Tylan Wallace, James Proche, Devin Duvernay, and the recently signed DeSean Jackson. Only Robinson and Jackson have amassed 1,000 receiving yards in their careers, but both are aging veterans.

Even with Mark Andrews, who has a rightful claim as the best tight end in football, the Ravens pass-catching group is simply not good enough to win a Super Bowl. The Giants got a close peak in Week 5, as Ravens wide receivers hauled in just five passes in the loss to Big Blue.

The Ravens clearly crave some extra juice, and Toney could bring just that. The No. 1 tool in Toney’s arsenal is explosiveness and quickness, two things the Ravens desperately need. Lamar Jackson’s speed and juke ability combined with Toney’s speed and juke ability would keep defensive coordinators up at night.
