One big topic of conversation for NY Giants fans this week has been tight end Evan Engram. With the Jacksonville Jaguars hosting the G-Men on Sunday, it will be Engram’s first chance to suit up against the former team that used a first-round pick on him. No one is forgetting that Engram guaranteed a win for the Jags for this contest during the offseason.
However, while speaking to reporters this week, Engram backed off a little bit and said he’s got nothing but love for the Giants and he’s excited to see some old faces on the opposite side of the field in Week 7. It looks like there’s no bad blood, and this won’t be an extra storyline to watch once the pads come on.
Evan Engram is ready to try and play well vs. the NY Giants
"“They treated me well for five years and I’m excited to see those guys,” Engram said on playing the Giants. “I’m definitely excited to compete against them, for sure. It’s going to be fun game for me to play in.”"
Engram spent five up-and-down seasons with the Giants. He had so much potential as a first-rounder, but he drove Big Blue supporters crazy with some costly turnovers and drops over the years. This offseason, Engram decided to sign with the Jaguars, while the Giants took tight end Daniel Bellinger in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Bellinger has been fantastic for this offense, becoming a reliable option for Daniel Jones. The San Diego State product will look to find the end zone for the third consecutive weekend, while Engram will look to show the Giants what they’re missing.
Hey, Engram might end up having a big game, but we certainly are keeping our fingers crossed that it comes in a losing effort. The Giants have a great chance to improve to 6-1 this weekend.
