4 bold predictions for the NY Giants matchup with the Jaguars

For the first time since 2014, The New York Football Giants will head south to Jacksonville this weekend to go to battle with the Jaguars. Oddly enough, this weekend’s game in North Florida will be just the second true road game the Giants have played this season.
The 5-1 Giants have been proving the doubters wrong, especially the oddsmakers in Las Vegas, as the Giants have already won three games as an underdog this season. Vegas continues to disrespect the Giants early this season, and have even listed the Giants as 3.5-point underdogs this weekend against the 2-4 Jaguars.
The Giants will get to go up against former NY tight end and drop machine Evan Engram this weekend. While the Giants fans hope to see many Engram drops, the one Jaguars leader Giants fans hope to embarrass the most this weekend: head coach Doug Pederson. In 2020 as coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, Pederson purposely tanked a game in Week 17 against Washington that cost the Giants a playoff berth and their first NFC East crown since 2011.
Sunday’s matchup will be the first time the Giants have faced Pederson since, and while much of the roster has turned over, the veterans would love to give Pederson a whooping. Here are four bold predictions for Big Blue’s showdown against Jacksonville in Week 7.
4. The Giants play a turnover free game
The Giants have played very clean football this season. In six games, the Giants have committed just six turnovers. Daniel Jones’ fumble against Baltimore on the last play of the first half, Tyrod Taylor’s interception against Chicago that was effectively a punt, and the intentional safety Jamie Gillan took against Green Bay, actually helped the Giants, so I wouldn’t classify those as traditional turnovers. If you take those three turnovers out, the Giants would be tied with the Eagles for the least amount of turnovers in football.
Jones’ turnover rate has dropped exponentially each season, and that will continue this weekend. Jacksonville has forced nine turnovers already this campaign, but the Giants will be the most fundamentally sound team they have played.
The Giants play with a chip on their shoulder every week, and after being made underdogs against the team that was the worst in football in 2021 and only has two wins in 2022, you better believe the G-Men will come out and play a clean, angry football game.
