3 plays that made the difference for the NY Giants in Week 7
By Zach Wolpin
1. A TD-saving tackle as time expired
This play is going to be talked about for quite some time, as the Jaguars nearly recorded a walk-off win in Week 7 against the Giants. Down 23-17 with 1:04 on the clock and no timeouts, the Jaguars managed to move the ball down the field and found themselves with a golden opportunity to steal this one away from NY.
After a few plays, Jacksonville had 1st-and-10 from the NY 17 with only a little bit of time on the clock. With 0:07 left in regulation, Lawrence fired a ball near the goal line for star wide receiver Christian Kirk. Kirk caught the pigskin and tried to fight his way in for six, but he was stopped inches short by Fabian Moreau and Julian Love, while McKinney was also there to prevent the TD.
This was an unbelievable ending to the meeting between NY and Jacksonville. In years past, you’d almost expect the Giants to lost such a close game, but this squad keeps findings ways to silence their haters. NY is now 6-1 on the year and they clearly have the DNA of a playoff side. Next up is a Week 8 showdown with the Seattle Seahawks.
