Remember after the NY Giants took down the Green Bay Packers and people claimed they were the worst 4-1 team in history? Alrighty then. Big Blue then went on to improve to 5-1 after beating the Ravens and they’re now 6-1 following the nail-biting Week 7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Despite being one of the hottest teams in football, there’s still a lot of haters out there who aren’t buying into what Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen are building in East Rutherford. No. 5 overall pick Kayvon Thibodeaux has seen all of the troubling words, but he could care less about it. If anything, the negative talk is just a bunch of nonsense to the stud pass-rusher.

NY Giants rookie Kayvon Thibodeaux continues to impress

There you have it. Thibodeaux only cares about how great his teammates are feeling thanks to their impressive start. We’ve said it time and time again, but very few people thought the Giants would be this good in 2022. Things were stacked against them, as Daboll is in his first year as head coach and this squad has had to overcome an unreal amount of injuries.

In Week 7 alone, tight end Daniel Bellinger, left guard Ben Bredeson and right tackle Evan Neal all went down with painful injuries. Yet, despite that, other guys on the roster stepped up when their numbers were called and they helped the G-Men record yet another come-from-behind win, this time against the favored Jaguars.

It didn’t show up in the statsheet, but Thibodeaux, who has 14 tackles, one sack and a forced fumble so far this year, was a monster in this one, living in the backfield and putting pressure on Trevor Lawrence. Despite missing the first two games of ’22 with a knee injury suffered in the preseason, Thibodeaux has looked like one of the best defensive rookies this fall.

Only more good things are going to be on the way for the former Oregon standout, as he’ll be looking to take down Geno Smith for a sack or two this weekend in Seattle. There’s going to be a time where fans of other teams are going to have to accept the fact that Daboll, Wink Martindale and Mike Kafka are football geniuses and the players are working wonders under their direction.

The time to get on the Giants bandwagon is now – and there appears to be plenty of space available with all the negativity being sent the team’s way.
