4 Seahawks players the NY Giants must slow down in Week 8

Daniel Jones and the NY Giants will be in for a battle in Week 8 when they take on Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks. This matchup will feature two of the NFL’s most shocking teams with the Giants having a record of 6-1, and the Seahawks at 4-3.

Both of these teams have found their early season success through the young players on their rosters. The Seahawks 2022 draft class is arguably the best in the NFL, and that has been clear when watching them play. On both sides of the ball, the rookies are playing integral roles in their strong year.

The Seahawks have a roster full of players who can single handedly change the course of a game. If the Giants hope to continue their win streak, they will need to find a way to slow these players down. Here’s a look at four in particular:

4. QB Geno Smith

Smith has had a career full of highs and lows. While he was relegated to the bench in 2014, he has returned in full force in 2022. So much to the point that some have him in the MVP conversation.

Through the first seven games of the season, he has managed to light the NFL on fire. He ranks in the top seven in passing yards, touchdown passes, interceptions, and overall QBR rating.

This season, he has thrown for 1,712 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and just three interceptions. His QBR is 66.8. He is also yet to finish a game with a rating of less than 80.2.

With a statement win coming over the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7, Smith has made people question just how good this Seahawks team is. He has looked to be among the best in the NFL this season and has helped keep this team afloat in a post-Russell Wilson world. If the Giants hope to walk away with a win, they will need to limit what Smith and the Seahawks offense can do.
