The New York Giants need to make sure that this new-look offense is properly supported to take flight the rest of the way this season. If there is one area where this group can be improved immediately, it’s the suspect wide receivers room that could limit the explosiveness of the offense.

Not only has Kenny Golladay had next to no impact on the team’s success this season, but the trade of former first-round pick Kadarius Toney to Kansas City has taken away even more of New York’s depth in that area. A trade could be imminent if Joe Schoen desires an upgrade.

Some of the veteran trade targets percolating in the rumor mill include Carolina’s DJ Moore, Houston’s Brandin Cooks, and Denver Broncos standout Jerry Jeudy. The final member of that trio has reportedly been eyeballed by Brain Daboll and Joe Schoen as a future star.

According to Ralph Vacchiano of FOX Sports, the Giants have a “particular interest” in acquiring Jeudy. While it remains to be seen just how many assets the Broncos will sell in the middle of head coach Nathaniel Hackett’s disastrous opening season, Jeudy would undoubtedly be the best piece they could dangle.

New York Giants trade rumors: Is Jerry Jeudy in play?

Jeudy has recorded 24 catches, 386 yards, and two touchdowns this season. Despite the issues that have plagued the struggling Russell Wilson and the passing game, Jeudy has been a remarkably consistent player this year. He’d immediately give Daniel Jones a new top receiving threat.

Where Jeudy excels is his ability to run routes effectively and separate at the line of scrimmage. With a 5-8 rookie in Wan’Dale Robinson getting tons of run because of his skills in this area, getting a 6-1 speedster with some solid production should help remake the Giants’ locker room.

With the crosstown Jets showing that they are committed to a playoff push via the James Robinson trade, the Giants may end up striking a deal. Considering that Brian Daboll was Jeudy’s college offensive coordinator at Alabama, he certainly knows him and what he could bring to the table as a Giant quite well.

The Giants need to root for Denver to come completely unglued, as that would increase the chance of Jeudy being traded. While he’s a good fit almost anywhere, seeing him in Giants blue might be a welcome sight for a fanbase that is dying for elite perimeter talent around Jones.
