Thud. That was one of the worst performances we’ve seen from the NY Giants in quite some time, and wide receiver Richie James had a day to forget at Lumen Field. In the 27-13 loss to the Seahawks, James spoon-fed Seattle with two scoring opportunities thanks to bone-headed mistakes on two punts.
In the first half, James fumbled the pigskin to set up a Seattle score, but he wasn’t done there. In the fourth quarter, with Big Blue set to get the ball back in a position to try and tie things up, James fumbled once again, with Kenneth Walker posting a touchdown run soon after.
James ended up being carted off the field with a concussion following his second fumble, but NY supporters want nothing to do with this kid moving forward. Countless people have taken to Twitter to tell the NY front office to release him as soon as possible.

NY Giants fans are furious with Richie James thanks to his two fumbles
James and issues hanging on to the football is nothing new for him. What’s surprising here is that Brian Daboll didn’t make a switch at returner after his first turnover. Daboll decided to stick with him, and it proved to be a costly decision.
Who knows what would have happened had Daniel Jones gotten the ball back in his hands late in a one-score game. Moving forward, James’ future with the team is up in the air, but fans indeed want him gone.
That’s only a small sample size of the angry Giants fans across the country who are sick to their stomachs with the kind of showing James put together. His days returning punts for this team must be over.
Moving even further than that, however, general manager Joe Schoen might have to make a statement in releasing the youngster. He cost the Giants dearly in Week 8. There’s no defending his play.
