Despite all of the misfortunes the NY Giants have dealt with this season, they miraculously sit at 6-1 on the campaign, pulling out multiple underdog victories.

In Week 8, the Giants face off against the Seattle Seahawks, who in similar fashion to the Giants have been one of the more surprising teams. One of the biggest reasons for this is the rise of former Giants QB Geno Smith, who has looked like one of the best signal-callers in the NFL in 2022.

With that being said, this will not be an easy win for the Giants, as outside of Smith, the Seahawks team is full of talent and sits at 4-3 on the season atop of the NFC West. Regardless, here are four reasons the NY Giants will improve their record to 7-1 following their Week 8 matchup against the Seahawks.

4. Seahawks weak interior offensive line is no match for Dexter Lawrence

Throughout the first seven games of the NFL season, NY Giants defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence has been dominant, acting as a wrecking ball for any offensive lineman that gets in his way.

Considering how weak the Seahawks interior offensive line is, Lawrence should have no problems continuing his dominance. For example, the Seahawks three interior offensive line consists of Gabe Jackson, Damien Lewis, and Austin Blythe. Between these three players, only one has a PFF player grade above a 60. In addition to this, the three have given up four sacks combined.

Lawrence has racked up 24 combined tackles, four sacks, one forced fumble, and 10 tackles for loss. Playing at a nearly unstoppable level, almost no teams have had an answer for Lawrence’s monstrous size and athleticism.

Regardless of whether or not the Seahawks can handle Lawrence, Wink Martindale should put an emphasis on attacking their guards and center.

The No. 1 thing holding the Giants pass-rush back from being elite is consistency, which is hard to have when you not only have a young core, but have dealt with so many injuries. If Lawrence can have a dominant showing, it should open up plenty of lanes for players like Kayvon Thibodeaux and Jihad Ward.
