5 NY Giants positives to focus on during the bye week
The morale for NY Giants fans isn’t too high right now. The 27-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 8 sure brought plenty of people back down to earth. However, let’s not forget that this team still has the fifth-best record in the entire NFL.
Yes, the showing against Pete Carroll and the Seahawks wasn’t what people wanted to see, but NY sure has impressed through eight games. Luckily, the bye week has come at the right time, as the squad overall could use a break to get healthy. While some people may be down in the dumps following the Week 8 performance, here’s five positives to think about so a smile can return to your face.
5. The NY Giants are 6-2
If before the start of the season you were told the G-Men would be 6-2 entering the Week 9 bye, most of you out there would have thought we were crazy. There’s just no way this team has the talent to win six of its first eight games. That’s what people believed before the start of the campaign.
Well, the Giants indeed are 6-2 and they’ve been one of the biggest surprises in the game this fall. Again, the loss to Seattle hurt, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that this group took down Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in London, and they followed that up with a victory over Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
On top of that, the Giants have beaten the Chicago Bears, Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars. The Packers and Titans were the two No. 1 seeds for the postseason last year, yet the Giants came out on top in those respective matchups. This speaks to the fantastic coaching coming from Brian Daboll, Wink Martindale and Mike Kafka.
