It’s on Mike Kafka to prevent another NY Giants slow start
Unfortunately for the New York Giants through eight games this campaign, the slow starts on offense have become far too consistent. Fans have enjoyed the second-half comebacks, but for goodness sakes, a strong first half would also be great to see at MetLife Stadium. Come Sunday, the G-Men have a great chance to make that happen.
The play-calling will need to be on point from offensive coordinator Mike Kafka. In the past, fans have been upset with the lack of Saquon Barkley early on. That’s going to have to change moving forward. No. 26 is the best playmaker for this team. Kafka will need to rely on him early on vs. the Texans. Luckily, it looks like Kafka knows what he needs to do.

Now, it’s on Kafka to put things into play vs. Houston. The Texans are 1-6-1 on the year. This team doesn’t instill much fear into anyone, but a lot of people are calling this a potential trap game for Brian Daboll and the G-Men.
A loss to Houston at home would be an absolute stunner, but you never know what might happen. With that said, the pieces are in place for the Giants to record a big-time win. The defense will need to ball out like usual, but this offense needs to make a statement after the 13-point showing vs. the Seahawks at Lumen Field.
Barkley should be in line for a memorable showing, while Daniel Jones is ready to throw the ball all over the field too – the return of Kenny Golladay will be big for him. We’ll see what Kafka has in store for the Houston defense, but he must have his guys operating at a high level from the opening drive.
