Following the disappointing loss to the Seahawks in Week 8, the NY Giants needed a victory coming out of the bye week to regain some momentum: that’s exactly what they got, defeating the Texans 24-16 in an exciting Week 10 win.

This was an all-around fantastic game for nearly everyone on the Giants, as not only did the stars of the team step up, but many of the lesser-known players performed very well to help lead the Giants to their victory.

Entering a Week 11 game against the three-win Detroit Lions, the NY Giants will have a ton of momentum on their side. If these four players continue to play this well, we have no doubt the NY Giants can improve to 8-2.

4. WR Darius Slayton

We all know how limited, and quite frankly, bad the NY Giants receiving core has been. While the Giants thought they might get a boost from Kenny Golladay returning, this wasn’t the case at all, as Golladay only had two targets for zero yards, including an embarrassing drop.

However, despite Golladay disappointing, a monster game from Darius Slayton arrived, as he caught three passes for 95 yards and a TD, showing up big time when almost no other receiver would.

Following a cold start to the season in which the Giants coaching staff had little-to-no use for him, Slayton has stepped up in a major way in recent games. In the Giants last five contests, Slayton has caught 18 passes for 316 yards and two TDs. People aren’t going to stop talking about his 54-yard TD vs. Houston for a while.

The lack of consistent play from the receivers has killed the Giants offense all season. For Slayton to step up and become the unsung hero of this receiving core means so much to the fans, who for the most part, had given up on him.

Many thought Slayton would have been gone by the trade deadline, however, if he keeps this up, Slayton could be a key piece to the NY Giants’ future.
