2. RB Saquon Barkley
With yet another stellar performance, alongside the NY Giants 7-2 record, it seems as if voters should be putting Saquon Barkley’s name down for the MVP award. This week, Barkley ran the ball 35 times for 152 yards and one TD, absolutely dominating a horrible Texans run defense.
Barkley started the game off a little slow, only rushing for 26 yards in the first quarter, but soon after, his strong run would begin. After this game, Barkley now has four games of 100+ rushing yards, totaling for 931 total rushing yards on the season, meaning Barkley could easily peak over 1,000 rushing yards in next week’s matchup against the Lions.
While Nick Chubb may be better statistically, we feel as if there are no doubts that Barkley is the most talented running back in the entire NFL. Without him, the NY Giants may not be anywhere close to their impressive 7-2 record. To nearly surpass 1,000 yards through nine games playing behind a mediocre offensive line is absolutely insane to think about, especially when you consider Barkley’s injury history.
Barkley does things on the field that we have never seen out of a running back before. The way in which he puts the Giants offense on his back game in and game out is amazing to see. There are no doubts that a future Pro Bowl and All Pro appearance are in line for the 25 year old.
