Talk about a complete and total disappointment from the NY Giants on Sunday going up against the Detroit Lions. NY was favored to come away with a win, but instead Big Blue was dominated at home by the NFC North side.

As you might have been able to assume, head coach Brian Daboll was not happy at all with his guys after the final whistle. On offense, defense and special teams, nothing went right for this squad. Daboll let everyone know just how frustrated he was with his players and staff. This showing just wasn’t good enough.

Nothing being up to standard is putting things lightly. The Giants had done a great job of taking care of the football this season, but two Daniel Jones’ interceptions and an Isaiah Hodgins fumble flipped the script there. Jones took a step back, while Saquon Barkley was held in check from start to finish.

Barkley entered the week as the NFL’s leading rusher, but the Detroit front-seven did a fantastic job containing him. On the day, No. 26 rushed the ball 15 times for only 22 yards. That’s 1.5 yards per carry, which is never going to cut it.

For Daboll, his headaches were only made worse with Adoree’ Jackson suffering a sprained MCL, plus Wan’Dale Robinson also injuring his knee. Jackson will be out for 3-5 weeks, while there hasn’t been an update on Robinson just yet. From the looks of his injury, though, it wouldn’t be a surprise if it’s more on the serious side.

All in all, everything that could have gone wrong for the Giants against the Lions did. NY will race back to the practice field and then get ready for a Thanksgiving Day showdown against Dallas. The performance against Detroit hasn’t given the G-Men supporters much hope that a mid-week victory will be on the way for Big Blue.
