Odell Beckham Jr. would be foolish to choose the Cowboys over the NY Giants

The return of Odell Beckham Jr. – a story written like a Hollywood script  – could come to fruition except for one gigantic, star-shaped roadblock in the way. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the NY Giants and Cowboys have emerged as the two favorites to sign the star wide receiver. He’ll visit both teams after Thanksgiving. Goodness.

Of course, the NFC East rivals will be facing off Thursday afternoon as well, and the winner of the showdown could have a leg up in the race for the wide receiver’s services. Still, there’s only one choice Beckham Jr. should make, and it’s a return to New York. Here’s three reasons why Dallas is the wrong option.

3. The G-Men can give him a better contract than the Cowboys

Over everything, Beckham is looking for a multi-year contract, and the Giants can offer him exactly what he wants. While New York is cash-strapped for the remainder of the season, plenty of cash can be found moving forward. If the Giants can back-load the star wide receiver’s contract, they can meet his demands for what experts have called a contract similar to Michael Gallup or Chris Godwin.

The free agent wide receiving class isn’t anything to write home about, and the Giants may not be looking to use another premium draft selection on their wide receiving unit. Beckham can slot into their plans now and for the foreseeable future, and Joe Schoen can make it happen with the team’s cap space.

Alas, money is no object for the Giants moving forward, and once again the franchise can put pen to paper and afford Beckham. He’d bring some much-needed excitement for this offense too. At this point, and due to all of the injuries, you can’t put a price on that.
