There was an outside chance that rookie NY Giants right tackle Evan Neal (knee injury) was going to be ready to rock on Thursday to face the Dallas Cowboys. Now we know that Neal, the No. 7 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, won’t be taking the field.

On Wednesday, it was announced that the young right tackle wasn’t healthy enough to make the trip to Texas. With Neal now set to miss another week, it’s looking like Tyre Phillips will get the start on the opposite side of the line of left tackle Andrew Thomas.

NY Giants offensive line depth is looking bleak for the Week 12 matchup

Four offensive linemen who could be relied upon to play extensive snaps… all ruled out. Not having Neal is one thing, but Jon Feliciano, Shane Lemieux AND Josh Ezeudu also not being available is really going to hurt this offense. Nick Gates looking strong at center last week vs. the Lions, but he’s still working his way fully back from his gruesome injury last year.

This new-look offensive line for 2022 has failed to stay healthy, with a bunch of different bodies having to jump in. Not only that, but don’t forget that Adoree’ Jackson suffered his sprained MCL and will be out 3-5 weeks, and Wan’Dale Robinson is lost for the year due to his torn ACL.

There’s been nothing but terrible news for the G-Men when it comes to injuries this season. At this point, everyone should cross their fingers that no more serious injuries are recorded come Thursday in Dallas. Brian Daboll and Co. can’t take any additional rough updates.
