What a difference three months can make. Leading up to the season, just about everyone in the area wanted Daniel Jones out of town and Zach Wilson was looked at as the king of the quarterback castle in East Rutherford. Well, we can go ahead and say that’s no longer the case here.

Jones has the NY Giants at 7-3 on the year and Big Blue is hoping to stun the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day. As for Wilson, the Jets are are surprisingly 6-4 this campaign, but Wilson has gotten worse and worse with each game. It has earned him a trip to the bench for this weekend’s matchup with Chicago.

Head man Robert Saleh can say that this isn’t the end for Wilson with the Jets all he wants, but let’s be real here: his time as the starter is no more and he’ll go down as one of the biggest busts in NY sports history.

NY Jets QB Zach Wilson being benched makes Daniel Jones look even better

Wilson, the 2021 No. 2 overall pick, may have been 5-2 when leading the offense out onto the field in 2022, but he was easily the worst signal-caller we’ve seen in recent weeks. On the year, Wilson has thrown for only 1,279 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions.

Yeah, those are the kinds of stats that will have you holding a clipboard on Sundays. Jets fans have hated watching the second-year player throw the ball. I mean, just take a look at this throw:

Woof. Meanwhile for Jones, he’s taken a big step forward this year and it has only skyrocketed his chances of being the QB of the future for the G-Men. Not only is Jones making plays with his right arm, but he’s been showcasing his wheels a bit more under new offensive coordinator Mike Kafka.

Jones has been far from perfect, as his interception against the Lions courtesy of Aidan Hutchinson in Week 11 is still being talked about. For any Giants fans furious with his play, hey, thinks could be worse.

At least you don’t have a Wilson problem to deal with. The former first-rounder has been a nightmare this fall. The same can’t be said for Danny Dimes.
