Unfortunately, 6-1 feels like it was years ago. The NY Giants have lost three of their last four games and the Thanksgiving Day defeat to the Dallas Cowboys, in the second half, was tough to watch. Despite scoring a touchdown vs. Dallas, running back Saquon Barkley had a bit of an off game for Brian Daboll.

After putting up a stinker in the Week 11 loss vs. the Lions – where he posted 22 yards on 15 carries – Barkley was once again held in check vs. Dallas. No. 26 rushed the ball 11 times for only 39 yards. In Barkley’s defense, that make-shift Giants offensive line had a rough showing, but still, he simply had to be better. He knows that too.

NY Giants RB Saquon Barkley has been off his game the last 2 games

To only have 61 rushing yards in the last two games is rough to see for Saquon. Not only that, he had a play to forget in Week 12, which very well could have changed the outcome of the contest at Jerry’s World.

In the second half, after a Cowboys TD, Daboll decided to roll the dice and go for it on 4th down. The play was there to be made, with Barkley getting out in space and Daniel Jones throwing him the pigskin. The ball was a bit low, but it hit Barkley in the hands and he couldn’t haul it in as he fell to the ground.

Was the throw from Jones perfect? Not a chance, but that’s a catch that Barkley simply had to make in that situation. You can tell from the video above how dejected he looked after his performance vs. the Cowboys. Now, the Giants are 7-4 and all the momentum they had appears to be lost. It’ll be on Barkley to help Big Blue get their mojo back.
