Heading into Week 13, Daniel Jones and the New York Giants will be taking on the Washington Commanders in what feels like a must-win game for both sides. The Giants currently sit at 7-4, while the Taylor Heinicke-led Commanders are 7-5. But in recent weeks, these two teams have had very different experiences.
Injuries have begun to pile up for this Giants team, leading to many of their struggles. Now, heading into Week 13, they are expected to get back several key starters on both sides of the ball.
Sending out a healthy lineup could be exactly what the Giants need to get back in the win column. Moving to 8-4, and one game above the Commanders, could give this young group the perfect chance to make a playoff appearance.
Here are 4 bold predictions for the Giants in Week 13
4. Daniel Bellinger picks up right where he left off
Giants rookie tight end Daniel Bellinger carved out a solid role for himself within this offense to start the season. Over his first six games, he was targeted 18 times, pulling in 16 receptions for 152 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
While being a reliable option through the air, Bellinger also left a mark with his blocking. Specifically, in the running game, Bellinger played a key role in the early season success that running back Saquon Barkley had.
Unfortunately for Bellinger and the Giants, the rookie suffered a fractured orbital bone in Week 7. After needing to undergo surgery, Bellinger has been sidelined for over a month. But it now appears that the Giants offense may have him back in the group on Sunday.
A healthy Bellinger will quickly become a key part of this offense once again. Many of the problems that the team has faced in recent weeks have come down to the lack of playmakers available on the field. Bellinger, while still early in his career, has proven just how much of an impact he can make.
Whether through the air or on the ground, the Giants offense will be better with Bellinger available and ready to go.
