Odell Beckham Jr. signing with the NY Giants will come down to this
The visit is over and done with between the NY Giants and Odell Beckham Jr. Odell was wined and dined, and now he’s ready for his next pair of visits. However, don’t think for a second that head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen didn’t make a strong impression on him while he was in town.
At the end of the day, it really feels like Beckham wants this reunion to happen. With him, though, he’s not going to play on a prove-it deal. He wants a contract that will make him happy, and he’s hoping Schoen puts it on the table. That’s going to be the deciding factor. If the Giants give him the kind of deal he’s eyeing, then a return very much could go down. No one knows what Schoen will decide.
The NY Giants must give Odell Beckham Jr. the contract he’s hoping for
Beckham wants a multi-year deal and he’s been open about saying that he wants his next home to be a spot he can settle down with his family for a while. Beckham is no longer eyeing the thrills of a party lifestyle. He wants to get comfortable in his new surroundings and focus on football and being a family man.
A move to the New York/New Jersey area would let him do that, and it’d also let him get back on the field where his sensational career got started. When healthy, Beckham is a beast, no one is going to argue with that.
However, his long injury history could have Schoen and the Giants front office a bit nervous on investing a lot of money on him. This team, for the long haul, has other needs they have to address. With that said, adding a wideout of Beckham’s caliber could be what this squad needs to get back on track offensively, which is why NY has such strong interest.
The fanbase would love to see this go down. Beckham is a stud wideout and no one wants to see him play for Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys. That’d be a nightmare for Giants nation. It’s going to come down to whether or not Schoen wants to take a gamble and give OBJ the kind of money he’s looking for. Stay tuned.
