Despite people still being bummed out about the 20-20 tie to the Washington Commanders, don’t forget that several NY Giants players looked fantastic in Week 13. Near the top of the list no question has to be rookie pass-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux.

The No. 5 overall pick is only getting better in recent weeks – his play against Washington was tremendous.  Despite putting pressure on Taylor Heinicke all game, Thibodeaux wasn’t able to record his second sack of the year during regulation.

However, things changed for him in a big way in overtime, as he laid quite the lick on the Washington signal-caller. This play alone shows just how much potential Thibodeaux has playing under defensive coordinator Wink Martindale.

NY Giants pass-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux is living up to the hype for the G-Men

Boom! This awesome new angle of the sack on Heinicke shows the kind of speed Thibodeaux has coming off the edge. He flew into the backfield and lit up Heinicke. The only thing that sucks here is that Heinicke somehow held on to the football. Imagine if the ball would have popped loose into the end zone.

The Giants could have jumped all over it either for a touchdown or safety – it would have been a game-winner. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be, but Thibodeaux still registered sack No. 2 of his rookie campaign.

Entering the season, Thibodeaux had his eyes on a sack per game, which would have resulted with an incredible 17 for 2022.  That’s not going to be the case, and despite Thibodeaux falling way short of that number, he really has been a treat to watch for the Giants.

This kid has all the tools to be a superstar in this league and opposing offensive linemen are already seeing the kind of electric abilities he has. We’d love to see sack No. 3 come this weekend with the Giants taking on Jalen Hurts and the Eagles.
