Which NY Giants are most likely to make the Pro Bowl this season?
1. RB Saquon Barkley deserves a Pro Bowl nod
The Saquon Barkley of old is back and it’s tremendous to see. While Barkley has lost his spot as the NFL’s leading rusher, he’s still been able to turn countless heads thanks to his amazing play. On the year, Barkley has rushed for 1,055 yards (good enough for fourth in the NFL) and eight touchdowns.
Barkley has put the Giants offense on his back at almost every stage of the season. Without him, we have no doubts that the Giants are a much worse team. Not only is Barkley playing like a top running back in the league from a statistical standpoint, but the way he uses his agility and athleticism to turn what should be negative plays into big-time runs is something that is not so often seen in running backs.
Barkley has been through so much during his five seasons in the league, and for him to sustain such serious injuries, yet remain a top player at his position is something we almost never see out of a running back.
Running backs are often considered the most replaceable position in football, however, there are a few exceptions in Derrick Henry, Nick Chubb, and Barkley. The production Barkley gives the Giants cannot be replaced by just any back, hence why the Giants must do anything they can to re-sign the 25 year old.
