3. Saquon Barkley and the ground game must go off

The Eagles run-defense has struggled some these past five games, so it is the perfect time for the Giants to play them. The Giants rushing attack ranks sixth in the NFL, averaging 149.7 yards per game. Conversely the Eagles run-defense ranks 17th and gives up 117.9 rushing yards per contest.

It’s good that the Giants strength is running the ball, because the passing game may be completely neutralized. The Giants have the league’s worst receiving core and they will be battling a Philadelphia secondary that gives up just 178.5 passing yards per game, best in the NFL. The Eagles defense also ranks second in the NFL with 42 sacks, so dropping back to pass 25 times is likely not something Mike Kafka wants do, and it is certainly not something Giants fans would like to see.

It would be wise for Kafka to draw up some creative end arounds and jet sweeps as well to show the Eagles multiple different running looks. If Saquon Barkley and Daniel Jones can find their early season running form, the Giants have a legit shot to do the unthinkable.
