NY Giants Injury Update: Saquon Barkley ready to roll vs. the Eagles
Crisis averted for the NY Giants. Throughout the weekend, concern had been rising that star running back Saquon Barkley potentially would have to miss this monster NFC East showdown due to his neck injury.
On Saturday night, Adam Schefter said it was 50-50 that Barkley would put the pads on. Luckily for head coach Brian Daboll, he’ll have one of the most explosive players in the league ready to make plays for him against the Eagles.
NY Giants RB Saquon Barkley is good to go against the Eagles
Having Barkley on the field is obviously great for the G-Men, as the offense will need him to be a workhorse to try and take down the Eagles. Outside of the Barkley news, though, Big Blue will be without seven others come Sunday afternoon.
It was announced that David Sills, Adoree’ Jackson, Rodarius Williams, Shane Lemieux, Josh Edeudu, Lawrence Cager and Lawrence Williams are all on the inactives list. There aren’t many shockers here, but obviously not having Williams is a big blow.
It’ll be on Dexter Lawrence, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Azeez Ojulari and others to not only apply pressure on Jalen Hurts, but also make sure the Philly run game doesn’t take off. That’s going to be a tough task, but other playmakers will be ready to suit up.
With Barkley, he’s going to have to make a strong impact both on the ground and through the air. Daniel Jones is of course happy Barkley will be in action. Look for those two to put on a show. There’s a lot of pressure on them.
