Earlier in the week, NY Giants fans read about ESPN’s Todd McShay linking the G-Men with USC WR Jordan Addison in the first round of the NFL Draft. Goodness, that’d be a lot of fun it it were to go down.

However, since there are so many moving pieces, Addison may not even be on the board once the Giants are up. That’s why Joe Schoen is 100 percent going to be doing extensive research on other playmakers who may fall to him.

With the Giants having such a monstrous need for help at wide receiver, there’s a new name that has caught our attention. In a new Mock NFL Draft, Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling has Tennessee speedster Jalin Hyatt going to NY at No. 23 overall.

NY Giants selecting WR Jalin Hyatt in the first round would be great to see

"“If there’s a worse receiver situation in the NFL right now, I’d love to see it,” Easterling said of the G-Men. “The Giants desperately need an infusion of talent here, and they’ve got some solid options in this scenario. Hyatt has put up huge numbers in a breakout campaign, and deserves first-round billing.”"

Hyatt, who checks in at 6-0, 175 pounds, has been a beast for Tenenssee this season. In 12 games for the Vols, Hyatt has recorded 67 receptions for 1,267 yards and a mind-blowing 5 touchdowns. Yes, these are college stats, but still, you can’t ignore that kind of production from Hyatt.

He’s most definitely in the first-round pick conversation and he sure would be fun to watch making plays for the Giants. If either Hyatt or Addison were to make their way to East Rutherford, thousands of fans would surely be ecstatic to see it happen.

The Giants currently have arguably the worst WR unit in the league. As soon as the 2022 campaign comes to a close, it’s only going to be a matter of time before the Giants cut Kenny Golladay, without question one of the biggest busts in franchise history.

Wan’Dale Robinson will be back in 2023, but outside of him, who will be ready to step up for Daniel Jones (if he’s the QB next fall)? Keep an eye on Hyatt once April arrives, folks.
