The worst nightmare looks like it’s going to come true for NY Giants fans everywhere. No one, and we mean no one, wanted to see Odell Beckham Jr. sign with the Dallas Cowboys. After things were really heating up between the Cowboys and OBJ, it felt like No. 13 was either going to sign elsewhere or wait until next season to suit up.

That doesn’t appear to be the case. While speaking with Jarrett Bell of USA Today, Jones said that Beckham is likely going to sign with the Cowboys and the team is already thinking about having him available for a game or two in the playoffs. Say it ain’t so, Odell.

Odell Beckham Jr. signing with the Dallas Cowboys is our nightmare

"“Odell’s going to join us,” Jones told USA Today. “There’s a good chance he will, with the complete goal of getting ready for a playoff game or two, and then I’ll look to the future. But most of it being about now.”"

Jones also told Bell that the deal between Dallas and Beckham could be finalized as soon as Sunday. Right now, the Cowboys are focused on their upcoming Week 15 matchup against the Jaguars. After that, though, they’ll be ready to have Beckham put the pen to paper on a new contract.

This really does sting for Big Blue nation. Countless people wanted to see Beckham catch balls for Daniel Jones and Brian Daboll this winter. The hope was that a multi-year deal would get done, so Beckham could also suit up for all 17 games come the 2023 campaign.

That’s not going to end up happening, as it looks like Beckham has decided he wants to call Arlington home over East Rutherford. When Dallas signed fellow veteran wideout T.Y. Hilton, a lot of folks thought Dallas was putting Beckham on the backburner and the Giants’ chances of landing him had improved.

That’s not how this story is going to turn out. While Beckham hasn’t signed yet and nothing is official, all signs are pointing to him wearing a Dallas jersey and helmet. If the Football Gods are listening, we beg of you – let Beckham have a last-minute change of heart.
